Announcement of SCTE 2024 proceeding in Solid State Sciences
Special issue title: Chemistry and solid state physics of compounds and materials based on d and f electron elements

The special issue assembles reviews and original research articles focused on selected branches of solid state physics and chemistry, covering the topics of the 24th International Conference on Solid Compounds of Transition Elements SCTE 2024.
Crystal structure, chemical bonds, variations of physical properties (magnetic, transport, thermal, and spectroscopic) in intermetallics and derivatives such as hydrides, borides, carbides, silicides, pnictides, chalcogenides, oxides, or halides, are emphasized. Special attention is dedicated to electronic structure probed by various spectroscopic methods and confronted with theoretical concepts. The broad scope of the conference covers also various applications.
